No matter how serious Edgeworth sounded at the time, he just couldn't wrap his head around the concept! There's no way this could have happened to Edgey before! Wouldn't he have heard about it way sooner back home? Sure, the sword was hard to puzzle out, but...

But there it was again, and this time Edgeworth was discussing it with a stranger. This time, Larry had to stop and really think about it. Edgeworth certainly wouldn't joke about it, even if he thought maybe he was joking at the time, because he definitely couldn't imagine Edgeworth losing his mind to that degree either.

Well, Edgeworth is always talking about seeking out the truth, so today, Larry decides to follow that code too.

Robots that follow her incessantly and also put her at risk are even worse! So much worse! So that's why she's booking it because she thinks one of them caught sight of her and she tries to lose them in a crowd, pushing people out of her way as she does if she can't weave because HER ESCAPE IS IMPORTANT.

Yet when the crowd thins out, there's Edgeworth and it goes one of two ways.

Either Lili is just barely able to dodge out of the way of him but it causes her to trip because she's gotten more agile, sure but not that agile.

Or she'll straight up barrel into him with a surprised squeal.

He's even more of a dinosaur than I am, so he might not check his cerevice often enough.

And maybe, after what he's just been through, it will help just to see his oldest friend's face.

Phoenix comes to his apartment and knocks on the door.]

[Edgeworth, still worried sick about the people who are suddenly out of reach, gets up to open the door.

Lo and behold, it's one of the people he was looking for, and the shock makes him gasp and take a step back.]

[Edgeworth wants to flip out too, but that won't get them anywhere. And already he's seen this same message while trying to contact several people he knew. Including Phoenix.]

Calm down, Larry. [His tone is tense, however. Edgeworth is THIS close to throwing his CEREvice against a wall.] Does the message say "User Currently Occupied"?

3 Days after Interlude

[[It’d been three days by her CEREVice’s clock since the incident. It wasn’t something Rei was particularly upset about, all things considered. What had happened was just something that had happened, and it was her fault for not weaving tighter defenses, really. It was not a pleasant feeling, knowing that she’d been gone, but it was less the actual cessation itself and more the ripple effect it would have on the people who knew her. She’d always been the strong one, someone that the colonists could rely on and take comfort in. Now she wasn’t sure how they’d react. Could she be that person, or would their viewpoint change when they learned what happened? Hopefully not.

Like always though, she isn’t going to do things by half measures. So once she’s changed into comfortable shoes she heads out to the various apartments of friends and compatriots, arriving with just a simple text to let them know she’s on her way.

Edgeworth is one of those she feels the worst about, having missed their usual tea time, but he's also one of the older folks, and so she makes time towards the end of the day to see him personally. Because she has a lot to explain, she thinks. She knocks on the door of his place a couple of times and calls out.]

Edgeworth-san, it's me, Rei. Are you home?

[Edgeworth is indeed home today, and answers the door. He is a little surprised to see Rei, even if she HAD sent him a text message letting him know she'll come by. After recent events, he's beginning to suspect the worst about people who were only surfacing three days after the 15th.

He tries to be optimistic but that becomes harder and harder everyday. Especially after Weiss had made the post about her death.]

Hello, Rei. Please, do come in. [Stepping aside, he gestures for her to enter.]
