I'm Miles Edgeworth.

[Luckily for Kashuu, Edgeworth doesn't really make it a point to read up on sword history. He just knows how to use swords.]

A pleasure...Kashuu, correct?

[And Edgeworth thinks he's pretty young - or at least looks young.

When they enter the dojo, he begins looking around, taking in the furnishings and looking for a place to change and grab a practice sword.]

[adornmental]

Mmhm! Kashuu's fine.

[Kiyomitsu is okay too, he's not too fussy...

But the dojo itself is pretty spacious despite the relatively small area it takes up. It's designed with traditional dojos in mind, and the outdoor area is large and well-maintained. On the inside, rows of wooden swords line the walls. There seems to be an area at the front where shoes, bags and jackets are deposited, a snack and water area, and then a space in the back that Kashuu gestures toward.]

We have some spare uniforms in the closet by the swords if you wanna grab one. Changing rooms are back there!

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth has to admit, he's impressed. And there are the wooden swords, an area for people's stuff...it has everything. He nods in approval.]

Thank you, Kashuu. [He makes for the closet and starts leafing through the uniforms for one that's his size. With that done, he ducks into a changing room.

Ooh, dis gonna be gud.]

[adornmental]

Mm, no problem!

[While this punk's off getting dressed for BATTLE, Kashuu will mosey over to the wall to pick out his own training sword. He's already in his hakama, which he keeps at the apartment, so he's READY TO RUMBLE.

He also keeps his actual sword at his side, because of course he does.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth emerges from the changing room all dressed up and ready to go. Notably, he didn't need to ask for Kashuu's help, which shows that Edgeworth knows how to put on a hakama...or at least, could figure it out on his own.

He walks over to the wall to pick out a practice sword of his own.]

These are well-made. [Edgeworth takes down one of the bigger swords.] I look forward to using them.

[adornmental]

[Kashuu takes note! He's used to needing to help people put their pants on, which is always an experience...

The compliment only further solidifies that Edgeworth knows what's what, and Kashuu's chest puffs out a little.]

Of course! Strong wielders need good swords to match, right? But let's get started-- I'm in the mood for a good spar.

[prosecutory]

[Practice sword in hand, he nods in agreement.]

Very well, then. I can spare some time for one round.

[I walked right into a sparring session. But I could use some extra practice.]

[adornmental]

[Kashuu hops over to pick his own sword out, and then leads the way to the door again.]

You said outdoors, right? Let's go, let's go! We can take the biggest ring 'cause it's not being used right now!

[THE BIGGER THE BETTER or the more room for fancy footwork, at least. ONWARD. He'll claim the side of the ring closer to the park than the building.]

[Edgeworth follows him out. The biggest ring sounds like a good idea. It means more room for him and Kashuu to move around in.

He doesn't mind which part he gets so he'll stand opposite Kashuu, raising his practice sword into a guard position and adjusting his stance.]

It's rather quiet out here, today.

[adornmental]

Today's one of the quieter days. It can get a little slow, so I'm glad you decided to join in! The more the merrier or something, right?

[RIGHT.

Kashuu shifts into an offensive starting stance after that though, blade held at the ready.]

You ready?

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth nods. Not because of Kashuu's "the more, the merrier" comment, but because he's ready. Just so we're clear:]

Yes, I am.

[Bring it on. He IS in fact ready to see what Kashuu's made of. Which is a lot because he's the actual spirit of a legit weapon and has probably been around for a long, long time despite looking so young.]

[adornmental]

Then let's get started!

[After a brief customary bow to start the match, there's no hesitation at all on Kashuu's end - he's immediately darting in (albeit at practice speeds, since he's here for form and not to kick a corrupt spirit's ass) and levying an overhead strike down toward Edgeworth.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth remembers to bow as well. Then when Kashuu darts toward him, he uses his own sword to block the strike as it comes. He digs his heels into the ground, trying not to yield...

...only to change his strategy and back away, circling and looking for an opening.]

[adornmental]

[Apparently Kashuu's style is primarily offensive - or he's just having a fun time pursuing, because there's barely a break as he sizes his distance up before sweeping forward again. This time, it's to deliver a horizontal strike.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth leans away to the right and raises his sword to parry the horizontal strike. He's a bit slower this time, and he only narrowly avoids getting hit.

This is a challenge. Then again, who said dueling against actual sword spirits was easy?]

[adornmental]

[THIS PUNK IS HAVING A GREAT TIME, MEANWHILE.

He doesn't let up after the initial near-hit, pulling his sword back to slide in for a second attempt.]

[prosecutory]

[Well, Edgeworth can't really call the punk out for having a great time, he agreed to this. Besides, this is actually kind of...exhilarating. And he can learn from the punk.

But this time, he's more ready for the second attempt and expertly moves to stop Kashuu's sword in its tracks with his.]

[adornmental]

Nice! You're pretty strong, huh?

[A GOOD, SOLID BLOCK. Kashuu is pleased, considering how much he loves sparring and strong partners!

He's also not about to give an inch, so he pulls back, takes a step back and then darts in again for a side-strike.]

[prosecutory]

Er, thanks...

[Edgeworth twists his sword down and takes a step back to counter Kashuu's next strike. He's a bit thrown off by the surprise compliment so his movement there is a bit shaky and is another close call.]

I try not to ignore training, especially here.

[adornmental]

[He takes a step back after his strike is blocked, circling around and holding his guard for the time being.]

Smart, smart. More people should start doing stuff like that, y'know? That's why we opened this dojo in the first place.

[prosecutory]

Absolutely.

[When Kashuu starts circling, Edgeworth does the same...for only a few seconds. Now he's on the offensive, lunging forward to deliver a strike to Kashuu's left. It's a basic but quick move made just to see how well the other guy defends.]

[adornmental]

[Defense isn't as much of a strong point for him, but he's still swift with raising his guard, stepping back with light feet to put more distance between them again.

A counterstrike swiftly follows, and Kashuu laughs just a little.]

How's that—?!

[prosecutory]

Impressive.

[Edgeworth nods in approval before leaping back to try again. No, really, he's impressed and looks forward to sparring like this some more in the future. He then steps forward, sword angled to his left, aiming for Kashuu's side this time.]

[adornmental]

[Impressive is what he aims for!

But he'll block the strike - albeit somewhat messily, since he's less focused on a block for that and more focused on trying to counterstrike.

...Or the feint for a counterstrike, anyway. He changes course at the last second and lashes out for a more frontal strike instead.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth gasps, swinging his sword to counter the frontal strike quickly. The effort makes him grit his teeth and it hurts to suddenly change his position, but he tries to knock Kashuu's sword away from his front.

His mind may be quick but his body really needs to catch up.]
