Does meeting at 5 p.m. in the gardens sound all right? And I have, thank you. How about yourself?

[true to his word, flynn's at the arranged meeting spot a few minutes before 5 (better a little early than a little late). he's seated on a bench and repede's seated right next to him on the ground. the pooch gives a yawn before looking at flynn questioningly as if saying 'there isn't much walking going on in this walk. why?'.

that gets a smile and bonus ear scratch from flynn.]

[Edgeworth, on the other hand, arrives at 5 on the dot, with Pess in tow. As they get closer to Flynn and Repede, Edgeworth unclasps Pess' leash and the border collie quickly runs the last short distance toward Flynn to greet him.]

Good afternoon, Flynn, Repede. [Well, there's nothing wrong with talking to a talking dog, is there?]

[pess gets spotted quickly enough and immediately receives a proper petting. always so friendly!! with how repede stands, he's definitely interested in the sudden company. some new doggie friend to hang with? a good reason for the lackluster walk.

as soon as edgeworth draws near, he gets a warm smile from flynn. being too cool for energetic jumping on people, repede coolly strides on over to edgeworth while flynn's occupied with pess. might as well check out the new human while the other two are busy, right?]

Good afternoon to you both, as well.

[nope, nothing wrong with it, at all! it's just what any good dog owner does.]

[Pess is so excited and lets Flynn pet him all over until he can go meet his fellow doge.

Meanwhile, Edgeworth nods to Repede.]

It's a pleasure to finally meet you. Flynn has spoken well of you.

[Well, it's true. He walks over to Flynn and Pess and Repede is free to tag along with him.]

[repede gives a pleased bark as if saying 'he better have' before following along. the civil talking coupled with a lack of being super touchy right off the bat score edgeworth points with repede. owner of fellow canine approved.

flynn appears pleased by the response. getting a favorable review from repede isn't always easy.]

It seems to be a pleasure from his end, as well.

[Edgeworth may love dogs so much but he doesn't go around petting every dog he touches. Especially one that talks. He respects Repede's personal space.

Pess looks up at Repede. Sorry Flynn, when you're done, Pess will run over to the other dog.]

That's good to hear. Has he met Zwei - Ruby and Yang's dog?

[you're a good bro, edgeworth. give respect to repede and repede respects back.

no worries, flynn understands that the two legged creatures are only interesting for so long. those pets let up as soon as pess starts to look more interested in repede than getting some human affection. repede heads on over to pess so that they can get started with the usual doggie greetings.]

He has. Zwei occasionally joins us on our jogs.

[Pess is friendly enough, if extremely eager.]

I see. Where do you usually jog?

[Their exercise was mostly walking but sometimes Edgeworth took Pess out for a run. It was good for him and not just his dog, too.]

[repede doesn't mind the eagerness. although he plays it a bit more cool, he's still friendly enough. good start to this doggie friendship.]

By the apartments, through the gardens, sometimes more or less depending on what else needs to be done that day.

[as good as jogging is, it takes up time.]

[Edgeworth glances at Pess and Repede. Dogs being dogs. Almost, because one of them isn't a regular dog.]

...It looks like I may join you sometime.

[flynn smiles over at the dogs just having fun in their own doggie way.]

I'm sure Repede'll enjoy the additional company, as well.

[having a little pack to run around with will be fun for him.]

[Edgeworth reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small bouncy ball, once again watching the dogs.]

I think we ought to give them something else to do.

Yes, I agree. They'll both enjoy playing more than standing around.

[repede likes being active and flynn's seen how much pess plays. let's make the pooches happy with some fun! edgeworth can get the first throw honors since it is his ball.]

I wonder if I should've brought another one. In any case...

[Edgeworth gives the ball a hefty throw after making sure the dogs' attention has been shifted now to the toy and the possibility of playtime. After so much training and having to defend himself, he has developed a pretty good arm, and the ball soars in a long arc before bouncing farther away.

Pess is going to give chase regardless of whether Repede does or not. HE KNOWS IT'S TIME.]

[playing fetch? yeah, sure, repede's game. he gives them a quick look, a silent 'come on, a ball? do better next time' before giving it chase. being a speedy pup means he'll give pess a solid opponent in who gets the ball first.]

You're more prepared than I am.

[someone didn't think to bring any toys. most of his and repede's outings involve jogging and training. they play, too, but flynn simply didn't consider it happening today or at least not in a way necessitating a toy.]

Next time, I'll bring something for the both of them.

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth will make a mental note to do better next time. Meanwhile, Pess is going to give his best to get to the ball first but he'll be beaten and just chase Repede on the way back.

MY BALL, Pess is probably thinking, BUT OKAY YOU CAN HAVE IT IF YOU CAN KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME!!!]

I think they would both appreciate it.

[sorry for being a speed-demon of a dog, pess. two balls will make things much more fair next time. that said, he fully plans on sharing the ball love. it isn't any fun if one pooch hogs all the fun.

with ball in his possession, repede'll trot back over to edgeworth. the ball thrower gets the ball back.]

I think so, too. I may bring some treats for them, as well.

That's always a good idea.

[Edgeworth gets down to pat Repede on the head and give him a little scratch behind the ears after getting the ball. Of course, Pess gets the same treatment and for a while Edgeworth is just happy to be patting a couple of dogs.

Then he straightens up and hands the ball to Flynn.]

[ahh edgeworth scratched the good spot, too. repede definitely approves of pess' owner as evidenced by the happy tail wag.

flynn takes the ball with a smile. thanks for being a pal and sharing the ball, edgeworth.]

[and off the ball goes! go get it, pooches!! repede might be holding back a teeny bit on the running this time. he knows he's a special sort of companion (repede is repede and that's that) and that going all out against pess will make today's activities far less fun. just like the two-legged ones are sharing the ball, the four-legged ones can do the same.]
