[ Do you really have to ask, Edgeworth? You know how Heung Soo thinks about this place - he's way too embittered by everything that's happened to believe this is merely some sort of coincidence or a one-time event of ViViD screwing up.

Hence why he's practically scowling as he speaks up again, although it's at least obvious the anger isn't directed at Edgeworth personally. ]

We're being messed with. [ Again, he implies without saying. ]

[Edgeworth catches that implication and lets out a breath.]

That goes without saying. [He's not being snarky. Gasp. He really isn't.] One question remains: is it done on purpose, or through negligence on CERES' part?

[unathletic]

Whether it's CERES or something else they're just deciding to ignore.. something's got it out for us.

[ The ghosts didn't really seem like CERES' doing anyway, even though that happened a while ago. It's entirely possible there's some force other than the people who dragged here that just doesn't like them. ]

That's what matters. [ They can't figure out the true answer to Edgeworth's question anyway, Heung Soo thinks. So it's easier to just stick with that assumption that's at least definitely true and work with that. ]

So let's get going.

[ Before something catches up with them that they just don't want to deal with. ]

[Edgeworth cannot argue with that, so he merely gives Heung Soo a look of grim agreement.]

Should we turn back, or...take another route? [Left, or right? At least they know they won't be going ahead thanks to the wall that sprouted in front of them.]

[unathletic]

Another route. [ He doesn't even want to experience the headache of trying to head back, only to find out everything has changed and they'll only be more confused than before...

But otherwise? Well, he doesn't really have any strong opinions on the matter, so Heung Soo just glances over at Edgeworth, letting him make the call as to where else to go. He's the Responsible Adult here, anyway. Or he's supposed to be. ]

[prosecutory]

[He shrugs; better to keep moving forward than to double back. And now he knows better; no more running into surprise sprouting walls. Edgeworth glances to the left, and to the right.]

The left route is a long, straight hallway; the right is full of broken tiles and corners.

[unathletic]

[ Why are you asking him to make these decisions, Edgeworth.. neither of them sounds particular good, if not just for the fact that nothing in this place ever sounds good. Heung Soo swears it's somehow made to screw them over in the worst ways possible all the time, what a pain... ]

At least to the left we'll be able to see anything coming. [ Rather than, you know, turning a corner and walking headfirst into some huge monster's mouth. ]

[prosecutory]

[Well, Edgeworth wants to make a democratic choice. So he gets a second opinion.

Then he nods.]

Agreed. Let's hope ViViD keeps it straight, then.

That might be hoping for a lot..

[ GRUMBLY MUMBLING but can you blame him. He doesn't want to be here. He doesn't want to be dealing with these things. He doesn't want this to be his life..

But he'll at least start moving if Edgeworth won't, since he sure doesn't want to stand around here forever. Down the hall of perhaps inevitable doom it is. ]
