I remember that. [Edgeworth folds his arms across his chest, thinking back to that time.] It was through dreams that we saw others' memories, correct?

[dereban]

That's right. [ She nods quietly, folding her arms over her chest. ] The person whose memory I saw isn't here any longer, though.

[prosecutory]

On the other hand, the person I shared memories with is still here.

[He clears his throat and strokes his chin.]

When we had those dreams, we weren't sent to a place like this. And neither did we have masks.

[dereban]

That's true. But it's possible that they have some sort of correlation - if CERES was here in the past, they could have seen those mirrors and used them in experiments. Since the mirrors were broken, it's possible that they could have brought them back for something like that.

[ She's just guessing, really, as is shown by the easy shrug of her shoulders. ] I'm not so sure on the masks, though. I thought that they were given by Aria, considering that's where a good percentage of people found them. It's a loose assumption, however, so I could be wrong -- considering that people who didn't go to Aria's also obtained a mask. But that doesn't mean that it's not important... I believe, anyway.

[prosecutory]

I myself didn't get my mask from Aria.

[Edgeworth nods in agreement, and stares down at the mirror shards littering the floor.]

I wonder if we can bring back one of these shards...?

[dereban]

I didn't, either. [ She squats down and picks one up, trying to be careful. ]

Might as well try. I wonder if the shards will work outside this place.

[prosecutory]

We'll only find out after we escape.

[He watches her, then leans down to pick up a large mirror piece gingerly. Edgeworth squints at it; his memory is still reflected on its surface.]

[dereban]

That's true. [ She can't help but admit truthfully with a grim look on her face, staring at the mirror as if it would help in any way. ]

Let's try going back the way we came first, then.

[prosecutory]

Good idea.

[Edgeworth turns, clutching the mirror and tearing his eyes away from it, and walks toward the way he came when he first heard Inaba yell.]

[dereban]

[ Yeah, she'll just be pocketing that piece as well. ]

Do you think the door will actually open?

[prosecutory]

I see no reason why we should be locked in a hall of memory mirrors, but then again, this place isn't reasonable.

[He places the mirror in a front pocket of his jacket, where his own bloody fingerprinted mask is.]

[dereban]

It never is. [ And it most likely never will be. ]

So let's just check it out first, to make absolutely certain that it isn't.

[prosecutory]

Now that you've mentioned it, we should also check if any monsters followed us inside.

[Edgeworth nods in agreement.]

[dereban]

Y-yeah... let's hope that isn't the case. I can't really fight.

[prosecutory]

[He grips his saber in both hands.]

Then stay close to me.

[Normally Edgeworth can't really fight either but that was before CRAU happened.]

[dereban]

Right.

[ She nods, closing her hands into tight balled fists. ]
