[Edgeworth grits his teeth. He doesn't really care about the robots. He cares far more about this cravat but they need a new tactic. This is going to hurt him far more than it'll hurt the robots he and Soleil have dispatched so far.
Taking a deep breath, he undoes his cravat with one hand and one fluid motion while stepping back from the robots. The white cloth unfurls itself like a sail, and the robots, not expecting this new turn of events, halt and watch it as if transfixed.]
Consider this a plea bargain!
[And Edgeworth throws it at them. Sure enough, it works; they are now focused on the flying cravat, and Edgeworth decides to make a break for it, grabbing Soleil's wrist and leaving a trail of fallen rose petals in his wake. Well, since he's no longer damp, they're no longer clinging to his suit.]
(She wasn't expecting Edgeworth to actually throw his cravat. But more of a surprise than that is the fact that it worked. Getting her wrist grabbed is a surprise, but she keeps up with Edgeworth with ease.)
What's with the rose petals?
(She shouldn't be worrying about things like that, but it is very weird.)
I fell into the flood of perfumed water at the Pleasure District.
[He gasps out the answer as they keep running. Edgeworth doesn't look back at the robots distracted by the cravat he sacrificed; all he wants to do is make sure he and this young woman are far away from any more arrest-happy robots.]
[Edgeworth just sighs and nods vigorously, folding his arms across his chest. He's not even going to think about what would've happened if he poofed over the burning stove.
HIS CRAVAT WOULD CATCH ON FIRE.]
Yes, you should. Then you wouldn't have to spend time filling and refilling basins.
I think 'cause we were running out of places to store stuff in the other closets.
[Which Edgeworth has probably noticed, looking through the cupboards... They have a lot of Stuff™ with all the people in the house, and not a lot of space to store it.
ANYWAY, away he trots to go get said extinguisher!!]
[Edgeworth watches Kashuu take off, wondering just how many people live with the guy. There was way too much stuff for a single sword to use in those cupboards. He calls out after him:]
You don't have to place it in a closet or a cupboard. Just leave it in an easily accessible, visible place.
EVENT 032.EXE: PROPERTY OF CERES
Felicia
[Edgeworth shakes his head.]
I can attack people with energy from my soul.
...Normally, that is. Think of it as an electric shock that only works on beings with souls.
Re: Felicia
[Edgeworth, she's very confused by this now.]

[He counts them off his still-glowing fingers.]

[This was important-- and she was willing to take drastic measures if she needed to.]

[Felicia wasn't being hurt right now...surely if she were, she would've reacted. But it seems all he is now is an overcharged human taser.]

[She sighed, but worry still flickered in her eyes as she regarded Edgeworth.]
What do we do until it wears off? We can put coats on people to protect them from the ice, but it's not fair to hide you somewhere if we can avoid it.

[Edgeworth continues checking his blue hands as they walk.]
I don't...feel any pain, either.

Anyway, he has the decency to look a little embarrassed.]
Some fire inspector guy basically told me the same thing a while ago but I totally forgot about it after he left...

[Edgeworth starts opening and closing cupboards again. Who knows where a sword could've placed a fire extinguisher?]
no subject
[What a helpful guy! Kashuu will follow him around for a little bit like a useless lump, but eventually seems to have a remembrance epiphany.]
Oh, wait— I think we left it in the linens closet.
[Why.]
no subject
[YEAH. Just...why. Edgeworth shuts the cupboard he was looking through with a decisive snap of the doors.]

Otome
If I may, those powers were granted to you, then?

[ She'd never wish that on anyone. ]

[He nods. At least some complicated situations had great perks.]
