Er, thanks...

[Edgeworth twists his sword down and takes a step back to counter Kashuu's next strike. He's a bit thrown off by the surprise compliment so his movement there is a bit shaky and is another close call.]

I try not to ignore training, especially here.

[adornmental]

[He takes a step back after his strike is blocked, circling around and holding his guard for the time being.]

Smart, smart. More people should start doing stuff like that, y'know? That's why we opened this dojo in the first place.

[prosecutory]

Absolutely.

[When Kashuu starts circling, Edgeworth does the same...for only a few seconds. Now he's on the offensive, lunging forward to deliver a strike to Kashuu's left. It's a basic but quick move made just to see how well the other guy defends.]

[adornmental]

[Defense isn't as much of a strong point for him, but he's still swift with raising his guard, stepping back with light feet to put more distance between them again.

A counterstrike swiftly follows, and Kashuu laughs just a little.]

How's that—?!

[prosecutory]

Impressive.

[Edgeworth nods in approval before leaping back to try again. No, really, he's impressed and looks forward to sparring like this some more in the future. He then steps forward, sword angled to his left, aiming for Kashuu's side this time.]

[adornmental]

[Impressive is what he aims for!

But he'll block the strike - albeit somewhat messily, since he's less focused on a block for that and more focused on trying to counterstrike.

...Or the feint for a counterstrike, anyway. He changes course at the last second and lashes out for a more frontal strike instead.]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth gasps, swinging his sword to counter the frontal strike quickly. The effort makes him grit his teeth and it hurts to suddenly change his position, but he tries to knock Kashuu's sword away from his front.

His mind may be quick but his body really needs to catch up.]

[adornmental]

[He's still doing pretty good for a human, as far as Kashuu's concerned! Or at the very least, a human that he has no prior knowledge of in terms of skillsets.

His sword is knocked away, but he slides it quickly below Edgeworth's, going in for a sideswipe.]

Your reflexes aren't too bad!

[prosecutory]

[They're not, but they're certainly not perfect. Edgeworth is too late when he tries to block Kashuu's sideswipe.

Kashuu scores a hit!]

Ack!

[Oh well. Edgeworth put up a valiant fight.]

[adornmental]

Point!

[FISTPUMP. Kashuu takes a step back, though he reflexively keeps his defensive guard up.]

But you held me off for pretty long... That's not bad at all. Hey, d'you take lessons here or anything?

[prosecutory]

Not since Abe no Sousei left.

[Edgeworth recovers - well, it was just a practice sword anyway - and moves toward Kashuu with a low strike meant to mess with his balance.]

Lately, I've just been sparring with others and trying to learn on my own.

[adornmental]

You should stop by a little more if you can, then. It's no good to let your skills get rusty!

[Though the low strike does upset his balance a little, because he has to step away to avoid it...]

[prosecutory]

[Edgeworth grins at Kashuu's invitation and nods, not taking his eyes off him in case of any surprise attacks.]

Of course. I would be honored.

[He raises his sword up in preparation to defend, letting Kashuu have the next move.]

[adornmental]

Then come any time! We love having more people around. Makes it feel more like home around here, see?

[Because there are ten thousand swords back home and their small number here is just too sad...!

But he'll take the opening as it's given, stepping forward quickly and striking low this time. He's mostly aiming for Edgeworth's wrists in an attempt to strike his blade away.]

[prosecutory]

I would also be honored to learn from you -

[When Kashuu tries to strike low, Edgeworth chooses to dodge by stepping to his side - or rather, sliding. Then it's his turn to swing his sword toward Kashuu's right arm; it's hard to tell if he also wants to disarm his opponent or not.]

[adornmental]

[Apparently this is where Kashuu decides to show off, since he dodges with a completely unnecessary twirl...]

Then consider me available whenever you wanna train or spar! Tennen Rishin Ryu's my style.

[Edgeworth would do well to be acquainted with different styles, and he can't help but grin a little at how Kashuu's showing off.

He does nod at the sword's words.]

Any time! Anyone who wants to learn the sword even in this day and age is already a friend of mine.

[Since they're OBSOLETE IN THE FACE OF GUNS and all... It's kind of nice to know that they never totally go away, even if they become rarities rather than commodities.]
